Math Books

Number Jugglers offers open-ended, fun number games where there are many possible ways to set goals and then many possible ways to reach these goals. Children are invited to create their own strategies of problem-solving. We like two decks of number cards included with the book, because they show both the numeral and the corresponding number of dots. This feature allows even toddlers to do math with the cards. While there is no explicit discussion of topics beyond arithmetic, the games are based on algebraic thinking and can lead to many interesting extensions into more advanced realms.
